OPG / Lateral Ceph FAQ's

An OPG (Orthopantomograph)is a type of 2D dental X-ray that captures a broader view of the entire mouth, including teeth, jaws, and surrounding structures, in a single scan.

OPG x-rays are used to diagnose various dental problems like cavities, fractures, infections, tumors, and impacted wisdom teeth. They also help in planning orthodontic treatments, assessing jaw injuries, and evaluating overall dental health.

A lateral cephalogram is a standardized, side-view X-ray of the face, capturing the bony structures and soft tissues.

It's useful tool for evaluating facial growth, tooth alignment, and jaw relationships.

Both OPG / Lateral ceph X-rays involve a low dose of radiation, generally considered safe, and don't pose significant health risks.

Typically, you'll be asked to remove any jewellery, glasses, metallic items, removable dentures and hearing aids that could interfere with the image.

Both OPG / Lateral Ceph x-ray procedures are usually taking only few seconds and less than a minute.

You will get a OPG / Lateral Ceph x-ray report within 5 minutes after the exposure.
